The Walt Disney movies and history

The Walt Disney Company was grounded in 1923 by two famous brothers – Walt Disney and Roy Disney. It is among the hugest entertainment corporations around the world. This company is commonly known as simply “Disney” or Disney Enterprises, Inc. The Walt Disney Company history.

The Walt Disney Company has been stretched over 75 years. Walt and Roy started their company as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. In 1926 they replaced the name for Walt Disney Studio. In two years Mickey Mouse was created. In three years the company produced two films and bought a studio in California.

In 1932 Disney gained its first Oscar awar for Best Cartoon, the Silly Symphony. In 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was created. After World War II there were hard times for the company, as it had to start again and 1950 was a crucial moment in the Walt Disney Company history. Its first live-action film, Treasure Island and one more animated film, Cinderella, were produced. In 1955 Mickey Mouse Club started to work. The other turning point for the company was opening of Disneyland, the first California theme park, in 1955. One of the creators, Walt Disney, died in 1966. But the company survived, and Roy Disney began to supervise the Company. In 1971 in Florida Walt Disney World was opened. Later Disneyland was opened in Tokyo, which meant international popularity for The Company. In 1991 Beauty and the Beast was nominated for an Oscar Award. The Walt Disney Company owns Walt Disney Pictures. It is remarkable for producing four movies that have gone beyond 1 billion dollars in ticket sales. These movies are – Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. While producing The Walt Disney movies, the Company cooperates with Walden Media, Infinitum Nihil (Johnny Depp’s production company), Mandeville Films, Gunn Films, etc. Among the best known Walt Disney Company movies are Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, The Princess and the Frog and many others. It’s always a real pleasure to watch The Walt Disney movies. The Walt Disney Company continues to produce family entertainment till now.
