Lady Gaga will open MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga will open the ceremony of MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) - 2011 in Los Angeles. The corresponding announcement has been made on air in New York on 18th August.

The singer was at MTV studio during the announcement of her performance, however the announcement that she would open the ceremony in Los Angeles made her admirers who had gathered at Times square.

They showed the big poster with an inscription "Gaga to open VMAS!!! and showed to MTV spectators. During translation was also presented the official television premiere of her clip "You and I". Also there were prevented promo-rollers for VMA, prepared by MTV together with Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is nominated for four awards MTV Video Music Awards: "the Best female video" ("Born This Way"), "the Best direction" ("Judas"), "the Best choreography" ("Judas") and "the Best video with the ideological maintenance" ("Born This Way").

The leader for nominations on VMA in 2011 is Katy Perry: she is nominated for 10 awards. MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will take place on 28th August in Los Angeles.
