Eddy Murphy may become the next Oscar presenter

Known American comedy actor Eddy Murphy has got to the list of applicants to the place of the next Oscar presenter.

‘Deadline’ informs that the meeting of the producer of Oscar ceremony Brett Retner with the president of the American film academy Tom Sherack will be the moment when Retner will offer Murphy as the presenter. It is necessary to consider that the second producer of the ceremony Don Mishear also has the candidates for the position of the presenter.

However, as ‘Deadline’ informs referring to the own sources, Retner is focused exclusively on Murphy - the star of comedies, such as the Policeman from Beverly Hills and the Cranky professor. Now Retner works as the director over a criminal comedy ‘Tower Heist’, where Murphy has one of leading roles. The film will be released in November 2011. 84th Oscar ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 26th February 2012. This year the presenters of the ceremony were Anne Hathaway and James Franco.
