Mariah Carey Finally Returns to the Stage
Mariah Carey, who gave a birth to twins in April, returned to the stage. She made a wonderful, but short performance on Thursday night at Gotham Hall in New York. The singer sang a few of her songs (“Hero”, “We Belong Together”, etc.).
This concert was a part of Caesars Entertainment’s rewards program. Lil Wayne and Cee Lo gave performance in Los Angeles, Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles in Chicago and Mary G. Blidge and Cavin DeGraw in New Orleans. All these concerts were at the same time and were shown online.
Mariah was very funny and talked with the fans between the songs. She complained about cameras and said that she hated “this filming”.
Hours earlier at the same stage Diddy had performed, but he did not return to join in Mariah’s singing his remix “Honey”.
The Grammy winner got a big ovation from the crowd after her words “I’m a native New Yorker!” She mentioned she wanted to take her children to the concert, but was afraid of being late.
Mariah Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, who was also present at the concert, welcomed the twins on their fourth wedding anniversary at a Los-Angeles hospital. The girl was born first, her brother was the next. The couple named the baby girl - Monroe and the baby boy - Moroccan Scott. Nick Cannon, who suffered mild kidney and was hospitalized last month, announced that he had changed his lifestyle, as he wants to stay alive for his wife and their kids. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been married since 2008.
Mariah Carey did not forget about her children even on the stage and often mentioned their names. She said that if her son, Moroccan, was on the stage with her, he would apparently beat-box and Monroe, her daughter, would be a diva. Mariah Carey, whose last performance was in 2010, dedicated “Always Be My Baby” to her twins.
