The British scientists: happy people live longer
As Daily Mail informs, the British scientists from the London university college have come to a conclusion that happy people live longer.
‘Within the five years researchers have observed the life of almost 4 thousand people at the age of 52-79 years. It has appeared: the probability of premature death in the group of those who were happy, was lower on 35 %’, - writes the journalist Sedi Whitelocks. According to scientists, it confirms the idea that the positive psychology helps to struggle with illnesses and stress.
Participants of the experiment fixed the level of life satisfaction four times a day. The final conclusions have been made after the researchers have made the correction due to the variety of factors: age, sex, depression, illnesses and a healthy or unhealthy lifestyle of respondents. Andrew Stepto and his colleagues’ conclusions have confirmed earlier conclusions of scientists that optimism is essential for health while the uneasiness, depression and pessimism raise disease and reduce the life.
However Stepto has underlined: it not the proof that the sensation of happiness prolongs life. But he has emphasized the importance of positive emotions for elder people. Let's remind that the similar research was also held by the American scientists. During the survey it was found out that happy people live better and longer.
