Scaling Recruitment for a National Education Brand

AlphaBEST Education is one of the largest before-and-after-school enrichment providers in the United States, operating in 600+ schools across 20 states. They needed video content that could work harder than a brochure. Their challenge was threefold: attract qualified educators in a competitive hiring market, communicate their mission to school districts evaluating partnerships, and give their internal team a consistent training resource.

Partnering with creative agency Upper Ninety, Starks Media was brought on to produce three distinct videos, each targeting a different audience with a different strategic purpose.

Hiring Competition

Competing for qualified after-school educators in a tight labor market where job seekers expect video-first employer branding.

Multi-Audience Messaging

Three videos for three audiences: prospective hires, existing staff, and school district decision-makers evaluating partnerships.

National Brand Consistency

Content had to represent a national organization with 1,000+ employees while feeling personal, warm, and community-driven.

Three Videos. Three Audiences. One Production.

Rather than producing three separate shoots, we designed a unified production strategy that maximized on-set time and talent. One shoot day, multiple setups, and a carefully planned interview and B-roll schedule that fed all three final deliverables.

Discovery and Strategy

Worked with Upper Ninety and AlphaBEST leadership to define audience personas, key messages, and the emotional tone for each video. Mapped every scene to a specific audience objective.

Pre-Production Planning

Developed shot lists, interview guides, and a scheduling framework that allowed us to capture recruiting content, HR training footage, and marketing B-roll within a single production window.

On-Location Production

Filmed across active AlphaBEST program sites, capturing real educators, real students, and the authentic energy of their enrichment programs. Cinematic lighting and camera work elevated the footage beyond typical corporate video.

Post-Production and Delivery

Edited three distinct narratives from shared production assets. Each video was color graded, sound designed, and formatted for web, social, and internal distribution channels.

Three Videos. Real Results.

Video Production for Schools and Nonprofits That Drives Real Outcomes

Most production companies hand you a video file and move on. We build video systems: content designed for specific audiences, optimized for specific platforms, and measured against specific business goals. That is why AlphaBEST's recruiting campaign did not just look good. It performed.

Strategy Before Production

Every video starts with audience mapping and objective definition. We do not start filming until we know exactly who will watch it and what we need them to do next.

Cinematic Quality for Any Budget

Education and nonprofit clients deserve the same production value as Fortune 500 brands. We bring cinematic lighting, camera movement, and sound design to every project.

Multi-Asset Efficiency

We plan productions to generate multiple deliverables from a single shoot. AlphaBEST got three strategic videos from one production window, maximizing their budget.

Education Sector Experience

From K-12 programs like AlphaBEST to healthcare institutions like Mayo Clinic, we understand how to tell stories in mission-driven environments where trust and accuracy matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does video production for a school or nonprofit typically cost?
+

Pricing depends on the number of deliverables, shoot complexity, and post-production requirements. Education and nonprofit video projects at Starks Media typically range from $5,000 to $25,000+. We design productions to maximize deliverables per shoot day so clients get more content for their investment.

Can you produce multiple videos from a single production day?
+

Yes. This is a core part of our production strategy. The AlphaBEST project delivered three distinct videos from one shoot by planning interview guides, B-roll schedules, and setups that served all three narratives simultaneously. This approach saves budget without sacrificing quality.

Do you travel for production or only work in New Mexico?
+

We travel nationwide. The AlphaBEST production was filmed on location at their program sites, and our Mayo Clinic work spans multiple states. We are based in Albuquerque, NM and handle all logistics for remote productions including crew coordination, equipment, and travel planning.

How do you approach video for organizations with limited marketing budgets?
+

We plan productions around maximum output per dollar. That means strategic pre-production so nothing gets wasted on set, multi-purpose footage capture, and deliverables formatted for multiple platforms. Schools and nonprofits need their content to work harder, and we build every project with that in mind.

What makes education video production different from corporate video?
+

Trust and authenticity. Education audiences, whether parents, school administrators, or job seekers, can immediately detect scripted or overly polished content that feels disconnected from reality. We film real people in real environments and let their genuine stories carry the narrative. The production quality is high, but the feeling is human.

Can video production actually improve hiring results for education organizations?
+

The data speaks for itself. AlphaBEST reported a 387% increase in job applications after deploying the recruiting video we produced. Video gives prospective employees a real look at the culture, people, and mission before they apply, which increases both the volume and quality of applicants.

How long does the entire process take from kickoff to final delivery?
+

A typical multi-video education project like AlphaBEST takes 6 to 10 weeks from discovery through final delivery. That includes strategy and pre-production (2 to 3 weeks), production (1 to 2 days on location), and post-production with revisions (3 to 5 weeks). Timelines are customized based on scope and scheduling needs.
